Your own battery on wheels.
Power your home. Support the grid. Unlock the full potential of your EV.
Powered by ambibox technology and manufactured in Brisbane, Boomerang is RedEarth’s next-generation bidirectional (V2G) DC charger. It transforms compatible electric vehicles into batteries on wheels, giving households the ability to charge from the grid or discharge stored energy back into the home or grid.
In other words, your EV becomes a mobile battery, ready to support their home or community when energy is needed most.
Whether for backup, bill savings, or grid support, Boomerang brings the future of energy right to your driveway.

What is a V2G charger?
Boomerang is a certified DC bidirectional charger that enables energy to flow both ways between your EV and your home or the grid.
It’s one of the first products of its kind in Australia — designed, tested, and manufactured locally to meet Australian conditions and standards.
What can it do?
Power your home from your car
Your EV becomes your battery system
Trade energy with your car
Built for Australia. Ready for Tomorrow.
Important notes on suitability
Boomerang uses cutting-edge V2G technology, which is more complex than standard EV charging and may not be suitable for every home or vehicle.
Before installation, the following must be assessed:
Vehicle compatibility and software version
Your EV must support DC charging, have CCS2 connectors and be compatible with the ISO 15118 standard. Functionality can vary depending on EV model and software releases. Always confirm your EV compatibility before purchasing.Household grid connection capacity
Homes with high-load appliances may require upgrades to their grid connection.DNSP approvals and inverter limits
Each distribution network provider has different requirements that may affect installation feasibility.Communication protocols
Current V2G functions rely on generally accepted workarounds of the 15118-2 standard. V2G capability in cars may change with software updates for the vehicle. Future updates of the 15118 standard will expand capability but may not be available for your vehicle.
RedEarth will work with resellers, installers, and customers to ensure every site is assessed properly before deployment.
